One and a half million doses of influenza vaccine will be delivered to Kazakhstani hospitals in September

Almost one and a half million doses of influenza vaccine were purchased for the epidemiological season in 2017 by a single distributor for the purchase of drugs "SK-Pharmaceuticals".

According to the chairman of the board of the single distributor Maxim Kasatkin, the contract for the supply of such a vaccine volume was concluded on the results of the tender in November 2016. The amount that the state spent on free vaccination of the most vulnerable groups of the population of Kazakhstan exceeds 1.2 billion tenge.

"Procurement was made last fall, but the delivery was originally scheduled for the very beginning of the epidemic season, in September 2017. Now this term is suitable, and in the near future the supplier will start shipment of the vaccine to the warehouses of a single distributor, "Maxim Kasatkin explained.

He also said that in the event of an additional need, the manufacturer will be able to additionally supply up to half a million doses of vaccine to Kazakhstanis.

It should be noted that in our country there is an active work on vaccination of the population against the influenza virus. Thanks to vaccination coverage, the incidence of ARVI and influenza in Kazakhstan decreased from 2006 to 2016 by more than three and a half times.
