Thousands of Kazakhstanis can prevent cancer at an early stage

A week of early diagnosis of head and neck cancer will be held from 19 to 23 September in Kazakhstan. The action will be held under the auspices of  the European Head and Neck Society, BNews.kz correspondent reports.

Experts plan to survey more than 1,600 people in four cities of Kazakhstan: Almaty, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Karaganda and Astana. Each resident will be able to be screened to prevent the disease at an early stage, as well as carry out prevention of malignant tumors. The survey will be conducted by professional  team who have been training in Russia and Kazakhstan leading physicians. Among them are the oncologist, otolaryngologist and dentist.
Today, the number of cancer patients in the country is growing. Localization of tumors of the head and neck (oral cavity, nasal cavity, pharynx, larynx) are not felt for a long time. Every year about 1700 similar cases are reveal at late stages of development.+

It is believed that diagnosis can not only detect the disease at an early stage, but also save lives.
